日本では亜種ハヤブサが周年生息（留鳥）し、冬季に亜種オオハヤブサが越冬のためまれに飛来する（冬鳥）
絶滅危惧II類（VU）（環境省レッドリスト）
One of the fastest species in the world and very good at hunting other birds. The descent speed can reach 180 kilometres per hour. Blackish above and whitish below. The long wings and the black stripe on the cheek are distinctive.
